Mission: To provide decent and comfortable accommodation, delicious meals, conferencing and other hotel services in a sustainable and eco-inclusive manner and in accordance with customers’ needs and at competitive prices.
Core Values: Integrity, Accountable, Efficiency, Courtesy and Transparency.
In accordance with it’s vision and mission, the hotel’s strategic objective is to operate profitably and grow the business whilst utilizing resources sustainably, reducing overconsumption and waste, maintaining biodiversity, integrating tourism into planning and ensuring that we contribute towards the social and economic development of our community, supporting and involving local communities, consulting stakeholders and the public and lastly but not least training staff.
Airport View Hotel trains and sensitizes its staff and guests about the need to operate a hotel that minimizes the costs and maximizes the benefits of tourism for natural environments and local communities, and which can be carried out sustainably/indefinitely without harming the resources on which the hotel / tourism industry depend.
The hotel encourages staff and guests to walk the talk by owning the process of operating the hotel in such a manner that it promotes sustainable tourism. Airport View Hotel is contributing towards the improvement of the social and economic infrastructure in Kiwafu West (where the hotel is located) in particular and in Entebbe Municipality in general. Whilst delivering on this mandate, the hotel is conscious of the need to uphold sustainable tourism by taking into account the current and future economic, social and environmental impacts, addressing the need of visitors, the industry, the environment and the community in which we operate.
In order to mitigate the negative impact of our processes and production on the environment and thereby make them green, Airport View Hotel has adopted strategies that are contributing towards the attainment of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (17 UN SDGs) .
In accordance with our vision, mission and values, we strive to have a lasting meaningful impact on the communities we serve and the environment in which we operate. Adopting the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as the chosen measurement framework came naturally to the management of Airport View Hotel.
Contributing to the attainment of these goals is central to our business philosophy; for example in determining our pricing strategy, our service/product-mix, our recruitment policy, which suppliers we partner with and how efficiently we run the hotel business. Needless to add that inefficient operations result into accelerated depletion of economic resources and degradation of the environment.
More efficient use and recycling of materials.
Our hotel has a strict environmental policy which we adhere to so as to ensure a cleaner and safer environment. Sewerage is connected to a septic tank pending the installation of a main sewerage line by the National Water and Sewerage Corporation. Waste water is channelled to a soak pit while waste from food production is separated into biodegradable and non- biodegradable and is then put into separate and well labelled garbage bins. The garbage is collected periodically by a private company which we pay a monthly fee for purposes of handling our garbage. Plastic mineral water bottles are put in a separate container and are collected by the Company that bottles mineral water so that they are crushed and used in making new bottles. The same applies to glass which is stored in a separate bin and sold off to companies especially those in the beverages industry who recycle them.
We replace fully depreciated equipment with new and better quality equipment so as to minimize CO2 emission. In order to absorb the CO2 that is emitted into the atmosphere, we have a deliberate policy of planting trees. We have different types of trees and they are also serving as a natural habitat for many species of birds for which Entebbe is well renowned.
